Last week I posted a bootleg video of the following song. I must have been onto a winner. Since that day I've had several thousand google hits looking for the video. Now being the selfless soul who thinks of nothing but others I felt it only right that I obliged. So sit back and enjoy.x
So its been snowing the past few days. I used to love the snow, it used to have a magical quality and it meant two things, days off school and sledging. These days it just pisses me off, and it means only one thing, wet work shoes.
I
This is the closest Ill ever get to a valentine.
Valentines days, aka the worst day in the calender, is next week. In the run up to the day shops, restaurants and bars are filled with relationship propaganda, trying to convince you that true love has a price tag, and that spending money can indeed buy you happiness, after all if you don't buy that crappy red gift, the fancy meal and chilled champagne how on earth would your better half know you cared. I hate the day with a passion, but for two different reasons. The first is obvious. I'm single, and being single I'm completely bitter and filled with resentment about the whole spectacle. The second reason is that it is also my birthday. Thats right, I'm the original love child, how ironic is that. My birthday is no cause for celebration, its purely a further reminder that I'm getting old. You add both together and you get "23 years old and never been loved" - A double fucking whammy.
So last night I went out to take my mind off the fast approaching worst day of the year. We ended up in Ministry of Sounds Minibar, which turned out to be a great night, though what I drank ill never know. What I do know is that I didn't surface today until 6pm and I feel fucking terrible.

Fucking loving this song. Fedde le grand - The Creeps
In other news, Ive booked some more flights today, yet again to Portugal. That puts my confirmed Holiday toll at 3 for this year (so far), Portugal for February and July plus Ibiza in August, Im also hoping for an additional week somewhere fabulous later in the year. One things for sure this year Ill be giving undisputed travel queen Judith Charmers a run for her money. I also have a guilty secret. Despite being flat broke I got bored earlier and spunked $200 on a pair of Gucci sunglasses. Shhhh, don't tell my bank manager.
A persons blog, or at least mine is a virtual extension of their physical life. When I'm happy I write, the same happens when I'm sad, and when I'm intrigued or excited the words flow so fast my fingers struggle to keep pace with my thoughts. Tonight though if I'm being honest I really had to force myself to write. You see I've spent the past month or so pretty much on my own in the isolation of my own thoughts, and I am without a shadow of a doubt my own worst enemy.
Now I haven't been entirely alone, for one thing I have my family, but theres something ungratifying to a selfish soul about the company of people who love you unconditionally. I've also had a couple of nights out in Leeds, the first good, the second not soo bad. But take away those two nights and its been a long month. I've said it before and I guarantee I will say it again, I fucking hate January.
Thats why my blogs been pretty bleak of late, theres not been much going on. Thats not to say there hasnt been plenty going on in my head, but with a new year come a new leaf and mine is all about positive thinking. Moving on (with a faux smile) Another thing which has pissed me off recently is my weight, now I know all you fat bitches out there are gonna be reaching for those pies in anger after I say this but fuck it. I have lost weight and I am by no means happy. I spent the best part of last year literally weight training trying to gain 1stone, and by December just gone I had reached my initial target weight of 11 stone, now after a month of doing fuck all I have managed to drop a stone. I understand that in 10 years time Ill look back with envy, but right now I dont want to go back to my borderline anorexic waif like ways. My mirror image used to entice anger, disgust, even self hatred. I remember when I was living in Spain I would often go 2 - 3 days without eating without really giving it a second thought, it was only when my flat mates at the time sat me down and said quite bluntly "you need to fucking eat". Of course I took it on the offensive, but a couple of days later I took a good hard look in the mirror and was quite disturbed when I realised how skinny I had got. Since then It has become almost a life's mission, my quest for the fatty holy grail if you like to gain weight, and for me, like finding that grail, its not easy.
Moving on, yet again.
Music wise this month Im all about the dance, and I cant get enough of these tracks (especially some of the dirty electro remixes out there.)
Alex Gaudino - Destination Unknown.
Get Far - Shining Star (the Gianluca Motta Remix is the best)
The Presets - I go hard, I go home
I'm off to Portugal in 2 weeks, only for a week mind you, but Im desperate for a break even though half of my time is going to be spend in furniture shops. I swear my parents made me gay just to save one Interior Designer fees. I can picture it now, my father 20 years ago telling my mother "honey you have to overbear him for the nest 22 years if were going to stand any serious chance of cutting our interior design bills" Why do gay men generally have better taste than their hetro contemporaries? I for one would fund scientific research into the matter although Im not entirely sure how conclusions would be drawn.... "subject A prefers the Moroccan influenced scatter cushions which indeed proves our hypothesise to be true"
What do you think of my blogs new outfit, it might not be from Harvey Nichols, but customizing an old look is fucking hot right now. Though I cant help but think I need another colour to spice it up a bit... suggestions on a postcard. They dont call me gay geek chic for nothing.
